We will keep on monitoring the situation, because we don’t have the best experiences with promises of the police. People were prostesting to stop deportations and for the freedom of movement.

The campaign to remind EU member states on its obligation to respect and carry out the agreements in the continues. Arash Hampay wrote on his Facebook page today: “They write laws and then stomp on them with their military boots. They make conventions and then put them in dinghies and sink them in the Aegean and Mediterranean. They commit injustices. They make a business out of the lives of millions of refugees who simply seek a safe harbour. When the refugees, the people without safety protest against the oppression, injustice and lawlessness, the police are set on them like attack dogs. The police are supposed to provide safety in society and to fight criminality. Here the police have been given the wrong address. Instead of going to The GREEK STATE and the UN in order to bring justice for the violations against #1951RefugeeConvention, they come and harass innocent people in order to suppress them. Why did they even make #1951RefugeeConvention? What was the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights made for? Was the convention only effective when the Europeans were suffering from the WWII? Have you forgotten the convention since EUROPE was STABILIZED? You ratified the articles of the convention and you committed you self to following them. The convention says that refugees should not be deported. Why is the number of deportations increasing rapidly? Who told you that Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey and Iran are safe countries? Don’t deport! Stop committing this atrocity! Do not leave millions of refugees without refuge! Do not underestimate the anger of the people! Before that anger swallows you up stop your oppression, end this injustice.”
