Oakland November 17: Rally and Walkout at Pitt – Disarm Pitt Police

Friday November 17, 2017, 03:30pm (EST), Towers Patio, Oakland (Ca).

Last year on November 17th, shortly after Trump’s election, around 100 students, workers and community members marched together in the streets of Oakland to demand an end to student debt and protest Trump’s election.

The group was met by Pitt Police officers who brutally beat, injured and arrested multiple students right outside of their dorms. Following this horrific night, Pitt administration not only venerated police action but demonized student protestors.

Since then, student’s demands for a more just University have continued to be ignored. Our voices have been silenced, student debt has grown, workers are still making poverty wages, and the police are more antagonistic toward student protestors than ever before.

Come out to commemorate this day, and demand that the University take steps to disarm campus cops & ban city cops from our campus.

We will walk out of class to demonstrate that our classes can not be as important as the safety of our friends and demanding a more just campus and world. We invite everyone – all the people that make this university our place for learning and growing – to join in this walk out and together we will share a space for our collective visions for making this university a just & safe space that belongs to the people that make it up.

Help maintain our site and continue our work: Donate

enoughcrowdfundingnovdecOur equipment suffered a lot from traveling around Europe for our independent on the ground reports. We need new microphones for better audio on our video reports, a new laptop (the last one crashed in Catalonia) and have a lot of expenses for our on the ground reporting.

We want to stay independent and want to expand our work with on the ground reporting across Europe and even beyond. Therefore we need your support. Help maintain our site and continue our work. Your donations make our work possible.

On November 15 a few people of the Enough is Enough team will travel to Catalonia again to continue their work on a documentary about the current situation there. On December 17 we will travel to Lesvos (Greece) and in January we will travel from Lesvos to Athens to report on the ground.

Each donation helps, also the small ones. Thank you for supporting our project.

You can also donate on our Paypal account: enough14@gmx.net

At the moment we are also pushing a crowdfunding campaign of the Cars of Hope collective on our blog. Cars of Hope will work with refugees on Lesvos and in Athens and we will document their mutual aid campaign in Greece. The money from the Cars of Hope crowdfunding campaign will be used for their work with refugees only. Thats why Enough is Enough need their own crowdfunding campaign (Apart from maintaining our site, buying new equipment and our work in Catalonia, Greece and many other countries).

Watch our documentary from September 2017 (and you will hear why we need new microphones) about the situation of refugees on Lesvos. Lesvos: Close The Camps & Open The Islands
