#Cologne Demo Call: Stop Enslavement in #Libya!

The initiative “Black Lives Matter Germany Cologne” calls for an immediate stop to the enslavement of African refugees in Libya and the inhumane living conditions of African refugees worldwide! This is a call for initiatives by black people in Germany, supporters in civil society, activists and active members of anti-discrimination and racism-critical work to make a mark against the neocolonial states.

Cologne Demo Call: Stop Enslavement in Libya!

When and where?
Monday, 27.11.2017, 18:00-20:00, starting-point at the Gerhard-Wilczek-Platz, Cologne, Germany.

Route of the demonstration:
Gerhard-Wilczek-Platz (opening rally) – Stammstraße – Ehrenfeldgürtel – Venloer Straße – Friesenplatz (second rally) – Hohenzollernring – Aachener Strape – Brabanter Straße – Lütticher Straße – Brüsseler Platz (closing rally).

The (neo-colonial) foreign policy of Europe, respectively the West as well as their economic interests in African natural resources and business markets, force hundreds of thousands of Africans to flee each year.

However, the situation of these refugees in libyan and other internment camps in the Mediterranean-region is becoming increasingly life-threatening.

Refugees who lack the financial means to continue their journey to Europe, or who are getting involved in the illegal doings/schemes by smugglers, are handed over to traffickers who abuse, rape and enslave them.

Responsible lybian and european Politicians look away and leave people to their doom. Even worse, the “Fortress Europe” is being maintained by the european refugee-policy and the accompanied shift of borders to Libya.

Therefore it is up to us: We want to fight together for an immediate halt to the enslavement in Lybia and the liberation of african refugees worldwide.
