Germany: Cops Attacked Antifa Blockades With Water Canons by 0 Celsius
Riot cops attacked several antifa blockades against the party conference of the fascist AFD party in Hannover, Germany earlier today. One person was transferred in a hospital and became emergency surgery because of an open fracture on his leg. The antifa protests started with a demonstration last night.
On Friday night there was a warming-up demonstration. More than 1000 people took the streets of Hannover to protest against the fascist AFD party. The AFD came into German parliament after the German general elections in September and this weekends party conference will be ful of power struggles inside the fascist party.

Today several thousand anti-fascists started to block roads leading to the hall where the AFD party conference will take place. The first antifa activists arrived at 06:00am. Soon more and more people came. At 06:30 cops started to check ID’s and bags of activists who were gathering at the Hans-Böckler-Allee/Clausewitzstraße.

At 07:15am the Queer/feminist finger was already standing at the stopping point Zoo. Cops immediately surrounded the antifa activists (Image below).

About 15 minutes later cops announced the people of the queer/feminist finger have to disperse otherwise the cops would clear the blockade. Suprisingly the cops suddenly removed part of their troops soon after their announcement (images below).

Another blockade was standing at the Schackstraße. A few paint bombs were thrown, but all in all the blockades were pretty peaceful (Image below).

08:00am: Several roads leading to the AFD party converence were blocked by several thousand antifa activists now. The cops started to move in more and more water canons and armored vehicles (Image below).

At 08:15am the cops announced that people have to disperse from Schackstraße or they would clear the blockade. Of course people didn’t leave. About 90 minutes later the cops cleared the area. During the police operation the cops used water canons against the anti-fascists. The temperature was around 0 degrees celsius (images below plus video in the Tweet).

At Kleefelder Straße an activists chained himself with a pyramid constuction to block the road leading to the AFD conference. Cops seperated the activist violently shortly before 09:00am. The activist became emergency surgery with an open fracture on his leg after the violent seperation by cops.

The AFD had to start their party conference one hour later because of the anti-fascist acions. After the successful blockades and several spontaneous demonstrations in the early morning hours, people started to gather for another demonstration in the early afternoon (images below). According to the cops 6500 people were marching in Hannover (at 01:28pm).

The NIKA (short cut for: Nationalism is no alternative) block was accompanied from both sides by many riot cops. More and more cops came from side streets to surround the block (images below).

At 01:44pm the demonstration stopped marching in solidarity with the NIKA block. protesters are demanding the cops to retreat from the block (Images below).

After about 15 minutes the demo started to march again, slowly but steady. The cops are still around the NIKA block. NIKA says thanks for the solidarity on Twitter. (tweet below, German).

The antifa demo arrived at the final point at Georgsplatz to start the closing gathering. On Twitter people warned to watch out and take care of each other because the cops will probably try to grab some people when they leave the area.
