Hambacher Forest: Massive Police Operation During Visit of Fascist AFD Politicians
Hundreds of cops took part in a police operation to protect politicians of the fascist AFD party, the social-democratic SPD and the Green party in Hambacher forest in Germany earlier today. At least 7 persons were detained.
The cops came to the occupied forest from different directions at 08:15am today. At 10:10am three people got evicted from the deathtrap occupation in the forest, one person was still in the tree house. Shortly after the cops didn’t let people go to the compost toilet anymore unless they unmasked themselves.
ALERT: Large Scale Police action in #Hambi, barricades, tripods, treehouses(entrance of forest) evicted, Meadow surrounded, multiple arrests. Politicians engage in a “Forest Walk” guided by police director to rubber stamp forest occupation reppression and #RRWE #climate collapse https://t.co/fzvq3Olqrn

Hundreds of riot cops took part in the operation. A monopod with several people on top was also evicted (image below) by cops who made an additional road through the forest to reach it, taking down trees despite the cutting season moratorium.

The cops evicted barricades and tripods but had extreme difficulties with the eviction of one activist who was chained with a construction in a five meter deep hole under the ground. At 6:45pm cops were still trying to evict the person in the hole. One person was injured from police violence during the eviction of a tripod.
The cooperation between the political establishment and energy giant RWE was demonstrated once again today. The politicians were driving in RWE cars. At least 15 persons were arrested during the massive police operation.

Most cops left at 05:50am, just a small group of cops were staying to evict the person in the hole. It took some time for the cops to leave as many cop cars were stuck in the mud. Todays police operation seems to be a show of force for the visiting politicians and might have been a kind of training for a possible evicition of the rest of the tree houses at the occupied Hambacher Forest. Stay Alert!
Unprecedented delegation of politicians in#Hambiduring a massive police action turned out to be from AFD anti-immigrant, right wing party, underlining rasist reality of climate change and bringing sinister overtones to nationalistic politicians once again overseeing repression.pic.twitter.com/cRX5Tbfjkb

[…] On January 22, the police tried in vain to clear the occupied barricades in the forest with an expen…. Even the attempt to present the “violent ecoterrorists” to the present regional deputies of the SPD and AfD failed. For our resistance is colorful, courageous and broader than ever. Nevertheless, now 9 climate activists are in custody. They are accused of resistance to law enforcement officers. For opposing their bodies to the evacuation machines. For having decided to peacefully but firmly demonstrate against lignite mining and for a climate-friendly world. Never before in the history of this forest occupation, so many activists were imprisoned at the same time. […]
