Spontaneous Demo in Solidarity with Afrin in Kassel, Germany

Last night there was a strong answer against the increasing repression of protests in solidarity with Afrin by the German state. 50 comrades spontaniously took the streets with an unregistered demo in Kassel, Germany.

Activists chanted “Solidaity with Rojava! – Get rid of the ban on the PHH!”. The loud and powerful demo marched through the city center of Kassel. The activists used a lot of pyrotechnics and firecrackers (video below). After some time the demo was accompanied by a few cop cars, but the cars were not full, which was probably the reason the cops didn’t dare to attack the demo.

Activists stated that it’s important and essential to take the streets where and whenever they want to. Especially because of the repression of the repression against the Kurdish movement and the ban against flags in Germany.
