More than 4000 people on fascist demo in Kandel, Germany
We arrived in Karlsruhe, Germany by car. After that we wanted to travel to Kandel by train. But we missed the train for “leftwing” people and the police didn’t allow us to get into the next train. This train was for “rightwing” people only. We decided to drive to Kandel by car and parked near the trainstation in Kandel. We arrived at the same time as the train full with fascists and we fastly got away from the train station. We asked passrs-by where the leftwing demo was.
On a crossing we heard leftwing chants and walked towards to them. We found about 30-40 people who were surrounded by masked BFE cops with helmets. People continued to chant slogans until the cops made their third announcement and ordered people to march to the main demo. If not the demo would be accompanied to the train station with “immediate force” (An euphemism of the police for attacking demonstrations). The group started to march to the “civic” demo.
When we arrived there, we were welcomed by a speaker who told us that the demo should be peaceful, colourful etc. Some comrades answered with a cynical laugh. After the usual “We are better Germans as those” speeches the AFD demo passed and people started chanting (Chants like: “You lost the war, you lost the war”, “Your children will be like us and other chants).
We wanted to make everything as uncomfortable as possible for the fascists. What I missed were feminist chants. Apart from “Kitchen, marriage, fatherland? Our answer: Resistance” and “Against shot-callers and sexists, fight the power, fight the system”, which were chants that we interspersed, there came nothing. In principle it was a traditional march around the church. Every time when one of the two fascist demos came near, there were massiv provocations. The final point of the civic leftwing demo was the same as the starting point was. Both fascist demos passed us there, so we drowned out their speeches with “Alerta, Alerta, Antifascista” and other chants.
The second fascist demo had a huge “Antifa unsocial” banner and as they passed by they showed us red cards. They were really edgy. After the action the demo went back to the train station and we drove back to Karlsruhe. We organized something to eat at the train station. A few cops there bullied us with a control. We were happy that we arivved back home healthy.
Ratio:Both fascist demos together had up to 4500 participants. The counter demo around 1000. We have no exact numbers. During the demo there were at least 3 fascist attacks against local residents, apparently some people got injured.
