Berlin: Unregistered demo for a revolutionary solidary world stopped by cops

Today the chaos and discussion days in Berlin will end. Last night there was an unregistered demo for a revolutionary solidary world in solidarity with anarchist prisoners and against the police raids earlier this week.

The demo especially wanted to support anarchist prisoners Lisa and Thomas. Lisa was sentenced to 7 1/2 years imprisonment last year. The German state accuses Lisa for taking part in a bank robbery in Aachen, Germany, in 2014.

Thomas was arrested during a bank robbery in 1996 and was sentenced to 16 years and 9 months imprisonment. Although Thomas should have been released several years ago, he is still in prison. Since 2013 Thomas is in so-called preventive detention and it is unclear when he will be released. Thomas is imprisoned in the JVA Freiburg at the moment.

The unregistered demo with about 200 people started at Herrfurthplatz in Berlin but wasa stopped by cops after about 5 minutes. The cops demanded that somebody register the demo but of course nobody did. The German state always wants to make an individual or an official association responsible for anything that happens on a demo.

The cops kettled about 100 people in the Weisestrasse, still trying to find somebody who want to register the demo.

After about 1 hour the cops released people from the kettle, but detained one person, who was released later in the evening.

A few hours later a spontaneous demo started to march in Rigaer street. At midnight there was an action with fireworks at the Moabit prison.

After the spontaneous demo cops stressed in front of the Rigaer 94 squat. Today is the last day of the chaos and discussion days in Berlin. Tomorrow there is a court date in the eviction case against the groundfloor of Rigaer 94.
