We called today for a demonstration against the European migration regime and the advance of the (far) right in Europe. About a thousand people followed the call. We moved aggressively through the circle 5 district. Once again, the police did not want to let us move into their dear circle 1 district. We remained unimpressed and went on to the circle 4 district, where we dissolved the demonstration at Helvetiaplatz. The demo was loud and determined. There were speeches about aid organizations at the Mediterranean, the situation of women who are fleeing, the strengthening of nationalist chauvinist parties and the NSU.
Right-wing agitators solve their electoral promises – with fatal consequences for refugees. Europe wants to set up transit camps in North African states. Austria demands an “alliance of the willing”. Italy and Malta no longer allow ewscue ships to enter their ports. Humanitarian NGOs are being criminalized. The direct result of this policy? The number of dead is rocketing massively. In June alone, more than 500 people drowned in the Mediterranean, 20 times more than in the previous months. With the construction of the first federal asylum center, the co-financing of Frontex or as the most zealous Dublin returnee, the Swiss state is supporting this murderous policy. Barbed wire to scrap metal!
We counter this development with international solidarity. Our resistance is anti-fascist, feminist and anti-capitalist. We solidarize ourselves with the struggles of refugees and with revolutionary movements worldwide!
Barbed wire to scrap metal!
High the international solidarity!
