Call for a feminist block at the antifascist unity demo against the fascist DFLA

Saturday, October 13, 2018 ,12:00 – 16:00, BBC Portland Place, London

The far right is growing. On 13th October the far-right Democratic Football Lads Alliance plan to march in London. In July 2018, 10,000 of them took to the streets, uniting racists from UKIP to Generation Identity. No longer a fringe group, the far right are given airtime by the mainstream media, well funded and supported by many in the political establishment.

Sexism is at the heart of fascism. The far right say they want to stop sexual violence by closing national borders, attacking minorities and by returning to ‘traditional’ gender roles. But the reality is that 80–90% of child sex offenders are white men and 87% of sexual violence is committed by someone known to the victim. Sexual abuse happens in every culture, country and community – and in our own homes. The far right don’t have the answers.

The Feminist Anti-fascist Assembly are a coalition of feminists of all genders. We are mobilising as part of the wider resistance against the rise of racism and fascism in the UK and across the world. We need your help to mobilise a large feminist presence on October 13th. Together, we can disrupt the far right’s attempt to use our experiences of sexual violence for their racist agenda. Join our next assembly meeting, spread the word in your communities and come along with friends on the day.

We will make noise and keep each other safe.
