The 60 year old woman, from Kallithea, Athens, owns a furniture store. A few days back she was arrested and the detective on the case ordered her detention in remand for the case of the bomb package sent to chancellor Merkel.
What happened: The German investigators who have been examining the package for years now, discovered a few weeks ago a finger print on the book. The finger print was sent to Greece, where the bomb- package had been sent from and the Greek authorities began to investigate.
It didn’t take long to find out whom it belonged to since the person had been arrested before. The finger print belonged to a woman who had previously been arrested for owning money to severance funds.
Without a second thought the police headed to Kallithea and arrested her. It is important to note that the finger print was not on the explosives but on the book that contained the bomb. So, the woman is not directly connected to the bomb and she claims that in the past she participated in book clubs that distributed books.
The police who are investigating have not managed to confirm a link between her or a family member of hers with members of the organization ‘Conspiracy of Cells of Fire’ who had send the packages to Merkel, Berlusconi and Sarcozy in 2010. However, the investigation is ongoing and the 60 year-old remains in jail.
