He was brutally shot to death while walking down the street, because he had previously defended his decency as an immigrant worker against the racist and nationalist belligerence expressed by the man who later murdered him.

WE WON’T FORGET. WE WON’T FORGIVE

This murder is part of a series of murderous attacks against activists, immigrants and refugees that took place in the last few years and were perpetrated by fascists lined up as parastate lackeys acting on behalf of the central state. It is the outcome of a systemic state propaganda that expanded and intensified in the last few years using all sorts of excuses: from the Macedonian issue to the case of the nationalist K. Katsifas. It is the effect of the systematic cultivation of bigotry, nationalism and racism. The rebirth and intensification of the most reactionary, cannibalistic and dark social social reflexes, the legalization and shameless activities of fascists and nazis in public space, the ideological narratives exploited by the system and the its authentic exponents.

The targeting and murder of an immigrant worker stems from the state itself and concerns a wider spectrum: the workers, the exploited, the oppressed and their modes of resistance. It constitutes part of a continuous operation to establish a counter-revolutionary fascist front on the streets which serves the status quo as a critical factor to establish conditions of unhindered looting of the society and nature, in order to ensure the survival of a political and economic system facing a deep crisis.

Moreover, during the current political circumstance, the regime uses the ‘left’ political management of the system to promote the incorporation and disarmanent of social and working class resistance, the coexistence of anti-state indignation with a rhetoric of nationalism, fascism, bigotry and securitization, all in the hope of increasing the scope of its influence. At the same time. the governing left, which is the other side of contemporary fundamentalism, decontextualizes, humiliates and vilifies the global values of solidarity, humanism and equality.

Nevertheless, bulwarks are raised by anarchists and various grassroots activists against the current circumstance, the state and its parastate attacks, the murders of Petrit, Zak, Shahzat, Pavlos and the entire deployment of a nationalist and fascist crowd. Just like the antifascist protests that took place in Corfu and Lefkimmi, the anti-nationalist blocs in Thessaloniki and Athens last year, the tens of recent mobilizations against nationalism in schools, the daily battles given by people in every aspect of the social and class related oppression and exploitation they endure, smaller and greater battles for life and decency keep the road open to internationalist social and class counter-attack against the bankrupt world of state and capitalist barbarity.
