Switzerland: Motivated by the worldwide mass demonstrations for climate justice, we want to take the momentum next year and carry the protest to Davos, where those responsible for climate change will meet again in January 2020.

For 50 years, the World Economic Forum has been claiming to ‘improve the state of the world’ and has obviously failed miserably. The climate catastrophe was largely caused by the world’s 1000 largest companies, which are members of the WEF.
We are convinced that the time is right to resume mass resistance against the WEF and that the winter trek to Davos can link the various movements working for climate justice. We are going to Davos to tell the business leaders and the WEF that it is time for them to leave.
We call for a massive 3-day demo trek from Landquart to Davos. The distance is about 50 kilometres. The first stage of the tour (Landquart to Schiers) starts on Sunday, January 19 and will certainly be the day with the most participants. On Monday we continue from Schiers to Klosters and on Tuesday, January 21, the final leg from Klosters to Davos, where the 50th WEF will open on this day.
The opening of the WEF will be accompanied by actions against WEF participants all over the world. That is why we have launched an international appeal and want to motivate the worldwide climate strike movement to declare an international strike day on the WEF opening day on January 21, 2020 (Tuesday to End the Past, instead of Fridays for Future).
As a prelude to the activities, there will be an international meeting with discussions, workshops and a demonstration on Saturday, 18 January in Bern as part of the Tour de Lorraine.
