#Haiti: Cops stoning a protestor to death

Haiti, June 9, 2019: Tens of thousands of protesters denouncing corruption have paralysed much of the Haitian capital & other major cities as they demand the removal of as fraudulently elected President Jovenel Moise.

At least 4 people have been reported killed by Police, 1 with a ‘Shot to the Heart’ in front of international media. (Photo Below).

Demonstrators marched while some burned tyres & blocked roads during the anti-corruption protest in the capital, Port-au-Prince.

Many stores and gas stations were closed and travel between some cities was impeded as protesters blocked many streets with barricades mde out of cars, stones and other large objects.

Police erected barricades near the presidential palace to protect the rulers of the country and fired tear gas and live ammo at unarmed protesters.

Journalists report one man was fatally shot in the chest.

The protesters are demanding further investigation into the “La Saline Massacre” and fate of funds that resulted from subsidised oil shipments from Venezuela under the #Petrocaribe program.

A Senate investigation recently determined at least 14 former government officials allegedly misused $3.8 billion under the administration of former President Michel Martelly. Current presidentJovenel Moise was named in this corruption case too.

Protesters came from all parts of society. In total at least 4 people were killed by police. One of them was stoned to death (see video in the tweet below).
