#Greece, #Patras: Prisoner denied healthcare

Prisoners at St. Stephanos Prison in Patras condemn the prison management and the state for the mistreatment of an incarcerated patient who is denied healthcare.

As you can see in the photo (above) the prisoner is bedridden and in a lot of pain. The prison staff have refused to take him to the hospital and would only provide him with depon (drug containing paracetamol).

The new democracy government has shown their far-right essence by targeting the most weak and marginalized. We shall not forget how a fellow prisoner died from dental inflammation two years ago because the prison staff refused to get him to a hospital, we shall not forget the hundreds of people who died behind bars within the last few years because nobody cares about us… It is very clear that correctional facilities are plain torture chambers.
