Indigenous prisoners of the organization, La Voz de Indígenas en Resistencia, and the organization, La Verdadera Voz del Amate, detained in Cereso Number 5 San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas.

To the national and international civil society and public opinion:

We are denouncing our current situation. Since March, the government and other public officials have not listened to our demands. On March 15 we started our hunger strike to demand justice and the review of our files because we were tortured by the MP (public prosecutor’s office). However, the government ignored our demands. They have not fulfilled their promise to release us and we remain here. Our hunger strike lasted almost a hundred days and we demanded the government of Chiapas to give us our freedom because we are unjustly imprisoned on prefabricated crimes made up by the MP. Such is the case of our comrade Juan de la Cruz Ruiz who should be released due to human rights violations.

For this reason, we demand that the Governor of Chiapas, Rutilo Escandón Cadenas, accelerate our release. Today we continue to protest and fast until we obtain our freedom.

Sincerely

Juan de la Cruz Ruiz and Adrián Gómez Jiménez members of the organization La Voz de Indígenas en Resistencia

Germán López Montejo and Abraham López Montejo members of La Verdadera Voz del Amate

Both Adherents to the Sixth
