Netherlands. In the night of January 29, 2020 activists gave a Shell petrol station on the Spoortlaan in The Hague a green look (See image). With this ‘green washing’ action they want to draw attention to Shell’s obvious attempts to polish away their reputation as one of the most polluting and disastrous companies in the world with so-called green alternatives to fossil fuels. This while their main income still comes from fossil fuels, causing irreversible consequences for the ecosystem.

Shell’s attempts to present itself as progressive and sustainable are particularly dangerous when their actions say exactly the opposite.
They are pumping millions into lobbies to deny climate change, and if it did exist, shift the responsibility for it to you and me.
They are killing and displacing indigenous peoples while calling for inclusion.
Dodge millions from taxes and get state subsidy. They increasingly present themselves as so-called ‘indispensable’ parts of society but we say NO. Neither animals, nor people, nor nature can continue to live with the consequences of Shell’s business.
