[Video] #COVID19 #France – Containment: an elastic term – Police brutality against the poor, while people living in the more noble Parisian neighbourhoods can go out for a walk in the sun without being beaten or immobilized

France. March 19, 2020. To enforce the containment, the French government has deployed 100,000 law enforcement officers with carte blanche across the French territory.

As expected, unfortunately, it is in the poorest neighbourhoods and against non-white residents that the cops are rampaging. Videos of police violence are starting to circulate on social networks. In the suburbs of Paris, we see cops hitting and beating up young people. In Barbès, it was a young black woman who had her stomach plastered.

At the same time, in the more noble Parisian neighbourhoods, crowds were able to walk quietly in the sun without being beaten or immobilized.

Let’s remember one obvious fact: containment is much harder when you live with a large family in a small suburban apartment than as a couple in a large house with a garden.
