With pain and anger we denounce the cowardly attack in which compañero Pedro Alejandro Jiménez Pérez, from the Tila ejido [communal land], Chiapas, was assassinated on September 11, when the paramilitary group Paz y Justicia, together with people close to the municipal council attacked with weapons of heavy caliber the population of Tila that, by agreement of the general assembly, was heading to release the blockades that these groups had installed at the entrances to the head of the ejido to surround our town, where the paramilitaries had destroyed a security gate on August 25.
In addition to the assassination of compañero Pedro Alejandro, in that attack Medardo Pérez Jiménez, Ángel Vázquez Ramírez and Jaime Lugo Pérez were wounded by firearms.
We denounce that the paramilitary chief Arturo Sánchez Sánchez, his son Francisco Arturo Sánchez Martínez, together with the municipal president Limber Gregorio Gutiérrez Gómez, have dedicated themselves to strengthening and promoting the action of armed groups to end the autonomy of the Tila ejido and deprive it of a supposed legal fund to set up its center of corruption and rot and open the door to paramilitary drug control.
Through territorial dispossession and with the support of the three levels of the bad government, they would like to end the autonomy that has cost the Chol people of Tila so much, which is and will be fully recognized by the National Indigenous Congress and the Indigenous Governing Council.
These attacks are part of the increase in the activity of armed groups and the proliferation of paramilitaries, which try to surround, terrorize, displace and dismantle organized peoples around the communities that make up the National Indigenous Congress in Chiapas and the support bases of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation.
The Morena-Verde-PRI party, which is all the same, has dedicated itself to supporting violence, wanting to sow division, arming the enemies of the people and announcing, with its cowardly attacks, the worsening of the war, which aims to end the collective life of the peoples, with the dignified resistance that protects our mother earth and, as CNI-CIG, we will act accordingly and in solidarity with the Tila ejido.
We denounce the cynical complicity of the state government and the federal government, who are responsible for the violence that grows, and we call on the people of Mexico and the peoples of the world to raise their voices to stop the tragedy that is coming.
