In the general frame of police presence and terrorizing of the neighborhood – that was intensified the last two weeks due to the trial of Golden Dawn – the two comrades were passing with a motorcycle from Degleri street at around 20.00 when the cops stopped them in order to check them.
Initially, they asked for the documents of the motorbike and the IDs of the comrades. Then, after they realized that the comrades are living in the neighborhood of Prosfygika, they changed their attitude towards them. With the excuse that they haven’t seen all the mandatory documents, they handcuffed them – with hands behind the back – and transferred them at Ampelokipoi police station, even though there was no resistance or confrontation. There, they were kept under hideous circumstances at a basement cell were already five migrants were spending their 9th without court hearing.
By having no clear image whether cops’ action was incited by personal motives or if it’s a general state order aiming to create a fearful environment inside our neighborhood, from our side we will continue to give our answers in the base of self-organization, resistance and solidarity.
On October 27 at 9:00 at building 2 in Evelpidon courts, we will support our comrades in this struggle like we do in everyday life.
