Since the arrival of the Spaniards to our lands and the beginning of the war of extermination against the indigenous peoples, we were dispossessed and it was with violence that we had to leave the valleys and take refuge in the mountains that today shelter us and became our home. The mountains sheltered us, they fed us, we learned to cultivate them, to care for them, to talk to them, and to learn from them. Now, like a hundred years ago, like two hundred years ago, new governments are coming, along with their bosses, the businessmen, the richest in this country and in the world, to tell us that we also have to leave our mountains, that they are going to build highways, mining, industry, trans-isthmian and thermo-electric corridors.

They say that now progress is coming and that for that reason they must sacrifice us, us, as indigenous people who are not worthwhile, that it does not matter, that there is no right for us, as the Spaniards said; we have no soul. So now the self-appointed 4T says that we are in the way, that our sacrifice is necessary for their progress, but we already know this history, so it happened 528 years ago, so it repeats now.

As before and as now we resist and we will continue to resist, we will fight against the plundering, against violence and against bad governments wherever they come from. They intend to pass over us, our ancestors, our culture, our history, our dignity and our life. López Obrador talks a lot about how everything should be legal, but his government violates constitutional laws, violates human rights, and is violating indigenous peoples.

They imposed the Toluca-Naucalpan highway on our Otomi brothers and sisters in the State of Mexico last October, violating the amparos that were in force, in which the judge ordered the definitive suspension of the work. But with beaters, buying of consciences, forced labor during the pandemic, and because of the political negotiation between the PRI and MORENA, they did not care about the well being of the people and the business will was imposed.

Our Otomi brothers and sisters living in Mexico City have been denied access to decent housing and the government only makes fun of them, they had to take over the offices of the INPI since last October to publicly demonstrate that Adelfo Regino does this with all the people. It’s just a bunch of lies, just a bunch of jokes, and it’s just a bunch of talk, and the problems of the indigenous peoples are not solved.

Our Nahua de Morelos brothers and sisters were beaten up on Monday, November 23, and were evicted from the sit-in that the ejidatarios had been holding since 2016 on the banks of the Cuautla River. The National Guard arrived to attack them and finish the stretch of land that is missing from them, in order to impose their “progress” at the cost of the life of the people. How many lies Obrador said, and all of them are exposed by the imposition of the Morelos Integral Project, he said that this work should not be done and now he is imposing it, he said that he would never use armed forces against the people and now he is using them. But not only lies, here too the law and the protections that are in force in favor of the people are being ignored.

Our brothers and sisters of the Mayan peoples in Chiapas who are Zapatista support bases, other peoples who are part of the CNI-CIG and others who are there trying to live in peace, are being surrounded, are suffering armed aggression, are suffering violence from unconventional warfare, are suffering forced displacement, kidnapping, torture and all of this is well known by the state and federal government of MORENA and all they do is give more impunity to the paramilitaries and more criminalize the peoples.

Our comrades in the Mexican Electricians’ Union, who have supported us and have not left us alone, when the paramilitaries began to assassinate us in May 2019. The National Guard attacked them, imprisoned them and evicted them from the Huauchinango Substation, which is claimed by the SME as a work center that can be used for labor reinsertion.

We, as the NaSavi, Me’pháá, Nahua, Ñamnkué, Mestizo and Afro-Mexican peoples of CIPOG-EZ, have 18 compañeros and compañeras murdered and their murders are in full impunity. We had to break the narco-paramilitary siege with our own forces, because the state and federal governments are abandoning us to die at the hands of organized crime. AMLO’s government lies to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, saying that narco-paramilitary groups do not exist. We had to organize ourselves and free ourselves from the slavery of narcotics in order to live as free peoples, and the government is not capable of supporting us; on the contrary, it supports us by giving impunity to organized crime. A beautiful transformation.

As indigenous communities, we are organized in the Indigenous and Popular Council of Guerrero – Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG-EZ), together with our brother peoples of the Peasant Organization of the Southern Sierra (O.C.S.S.). In our assemblies in different regions of the State of Guerrero, we have already decided to carry out roadblocks in various regions of the State of Guerrero on November 30, 2020. We are determined and determined that only with mobilization, organization and by bringing together our struggles will we be able to defend our territories.

We call on the indigenous peoples of Mexico, on social organizations, on those who see the destruction that we see, which is being committed again in the name of “progress. So that they organize, do not be afraid that they will be called “conservatives” this is not the first government that criminalizes us and attacks us with repression. Together and together we have to grow our resistance to defend our lands, territories and for Mexico to listen clearly. Never again a Mexico without us! Never again a Mexico over us! Never again progress over the lives of the indigenous peoples!

Comrades, we ask you to be aware of what may happen to us, because the camps of the narco-paramilitary group “Los Ardillos” are still intact, their hitmen are still intact, their military and political structure is still intact, even though the federal government knows who they are and where they are. But we had to break the fear and the siege, because we want to live, we cannot continue as hidden animals for fear of being hunted, we have rights and we want to live in peace.
