Town Hall Set on Fire in Protest Against Water Privatization in #Mexico

Chignautla. Puebla. Mexico. Militants in Chignautla set fire to the municipal presidency on Monday morning and blocked the main road of this municipality located in the Sierra Norte de Puebla, to protest against the “municipalization” of the drinking water service.

This municipalization is in fact a privatization, which explains the attack. The two floors of the building were set on fire by militants furious at not finding the mayor there.

Elements of the National Guard arrived at the scene, because revolutionaries, armed with sticks and stones, attacked the police who were trying to protect the mayor’s office.
