Klodian Rasha was killed by a cop on Tuesday. Immediately after that calls to protest against the police murder appeared on social media. The father of Klodian said reporters that he demands justice for his son.

At 04:00pm yesterday people started to gather in front of the front of the Ministry of Interior. Protesters were holding banners that read “Justice for Klodian”, and “Down with Dictatorship”. Tensions arose as protesters again and again attempted to break police lines to get into the Ministry building. The protesters clashed with the cops, preliminary reports confirm that at least 8 cops have been injured. Riot cops managed to defend the building and the protesters decided to march to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The christmas tree in front of the Prime Minister’s Office was set on fire and protesters also tried to break inside the Prime Minister’s Office amid calls for his resignation as well as that of interior minister, Sandër Lleshaj. After that the demonstration marched to the Police Directorate of Tirana to continue their protest there.

It has been reported that the weapon of the involved cop fired two shots, while one of bullets fatally wounded the 25-year old. The fatal bullet struck Klodian Rasha in his shoulder and damaged vital organs.
