Continue reading Student Rent Strikes Take Off in BritainGreece. Urgent update on the situation of Dimitris Koufontinas, on hunger strike since January 8.
His decision to undertake this form of protest is a consequence of his transfer, which took place at the beginning of January, from the rural prison of Kassevetia to that of Domokos. The days of hunger strike are now many, he is 64 years old and this is the fifth hunger strike he has undertaken since he is in prison (2002). He is in Lamia hospital, he is unconscious for most of the day. Doctors say that at any moment he could have a sudden collapse and die or go into a coma.
Given the situation of very high repression that the Greek country is experiencing at the moment, with the objective difficulty of taking to the streets, the Greek comrades believe that now more than ever would be very important to take actions in solidarity in other countries.
Let us join the Greek comrades to put pressure on the executive and the prison administration.

The night of 1/23 a video went viral of Tacoma pigs breaking up a side show and ramming thru a crowd, directly running over one person. Two people ended up hospitalized from this event. I’m not interested in discourse on whether people were blocking the car, attacking it, or the police were ‘afraid for their lives’ or whatever. The pigs should always be afraid for their lives and if people chose to attack the pigs when they tried to break up their fun, all the more power to them.

If you meet a Buddha, kill the Buddha; if you meet a Patriarch, kill the Patriarch; if you meet an enlightened being, kill the enlightened being; if you meet your parents, kill your parents; if you meet your relatives, kill your relatives. Only then will you find emancipation, and by not clinging to anything, you will be free wherever you go.

Hurry up and say no, before a new repression convinces you that to say no is nonsensical and crazy and that you should accept the hospitality of an asylum. Hurry up and attack the capital, before a new ideology makes it sacred for you. Hurry up and refuse work, before a new sophist tells you: Work makes you free. Hurry up and play. Hurry up and arm yourself.

Continue reading Federación de Anarquistas Gran Canaria (FAGC): Anarchism in struggleIdealism is necessary, but not based on fantasies and chimeras, but on the real capacity to apply our ideas to transform the environment. We must find the limits of our myths – ideological, theoretical or any other kind – to discover the fallibility of respected thinkers. We must try to apply the ideas keeping in mind that no matter how many historical precedents they have, and how much you are able to draw from past experiences (history must be seen as a clue not as instructions), the reality is that this current experience has never been tried before, only by you and your comrades. The self-referential talk vanishes and only the hard reality remains. It’s hard, but it’s yours.
