Debris of a public building smoulder from a protest after a police officer shot dead a street juggler in broad daylight in Panguipulli, Chile.

After the murder of the young juggler, a series of protests broke out in the commune of the Los Ríos region. The demonstrations began at the front of the Fifth Police Station of Panguipulli and spread to other parts of the city, becoming several sources of fires.

The murder took place on Friday in Panguipulli, a lakeside resort town around 800km south of the capital Santiago, prompting hundreds to take to the streets in protest.

Some militants erected burning barricades and threw rocks at police, while public buildings, including the municipal headquarters, were set on fire.
