The order of the Lamia Prosecutor’s Office for forced feeding of the comrade of the hunger striker Dimitris Koufontinas is an event of upgrading the state repression against the political opponents of the regime. Such methods have been used in the past by similar “rule of law” states such as West Germany in the 1970s, which forced the feeding of detained members of city guerrilla organizations, where in one case hunger striker Holger Mainz, a member of the RAF, died in the 51st. day of a hunger strike in 1974 due to drowning from forced feeding, which is in fact torture. Forced feeding means forcibly inserting a tube of nutrient fluid that passes through the esophagus and reaches the stomach through the mouth of the hunger striker. In fact, the prosecutor’s order for forced feeding of the partner is an order for torture and only as hypocrisy can the prosecutor’s justification for the protection of the partner’s life be heard since they know that the death of a hunger striker in Greece will have a huge political cost for the regime.

Recently, only in “democratic” Erdogan, political prisoners are dying of hunger strikes. The human lives of the poor, the class and the socially inferior have been written on the soles of their shoes by government officials of all governments who have killed thousands of people since 2010 to save the system from crisis, through impoverishment and extreme austerity measures imposed, for example by the degradation of the health system, something that was seen today with the Covid pandemic – 19.

Like the lives of prisoners, prosecutors and those in charge of the “penitentiary” system have written it on the soles of their feet when prisoners die in prison for lack of basic medical care. Judges such as those of the Lamia council who released the unrepentant murderer of 15-year-old Grigoropoulos, Korkoneas, judges who sentenced the pedophile and rapist of children in Moldova to 28 months in prison in charge of the planning office of Prime Minister which members of the ruling ND party testified as defense witnesses talking about “political” persecution – and even at a time when the country is rocked by rape cases in the arts and sports – can only be described as hypocrites when talking about human life.

In any case, “justice” as a whole is an accomplice in the crime of the political liquidation of the surplus population, as was the case with the memoranda. The problem in this case for the system is not the life of comrade Dimitris Koufontinas but the political cost of death due to the hunger strike. The lives of political prisoners are, after all, at the forefront of the spear of the degraded state. Doctors at the Lamia hospital must disobey the prosecutor’s order and not turn into torturers and organs of state repression.
