Banner action in front of Greek consulate in Düsseldorf, Germany – Solidarity with D. Koufontinas

Düsseldorf. Germany. Parallel to the solidarity demonstration (27.02.2021) at Kottbusser Tor in Berlin, 2 banners were hung up at the back exit of the Düsseldorf main station in front of the Greek consulate in hunger and thirst strike of Dimitris Koufontinason the same day in solidarity with the hunger and thirst strike of Dimitris Koufontinas.

Submitted to Enough 14. Translated by Enough 14.

The second banner refers to the insider relationships concerning the main actors of corrupt, inhuman power structures and demands their expropriation!

In addition, summarized excerpts of the article: Greek Horror- How an Epstein level paedophile scandal could connect to the first time in Greek history that a political prisoner dies of hunger strike from 24.02.2021: Written by Alexis Daloumis.

Following a repressive law (4760/2020 Article 3) implemented by the current Parliament, which serves the purpose of denying prisoners with life sentences access to agricultural prisons with eased prison conditions, D. Koufontinas should have been transferred from the agricultural prison near Volos to Korydallos prison. However, he was transferred to the Class C maximum high security prison at Domokos. This breach of law on the part of the judicial apparatus shows more than obviously how the ruling clique foams at their mouth out of anger at the unbroken resistance that D. Koufontinas, after he voluntarily turned himself in in 2002, maintains even and especially in captivity. Out of a pure desire for revenge against political prisoners, their tireless resistance is to be broken by physical, spiritual and psychological harassment.

However, the context in which the judiciary rewards the ruling class with impunity shows how tycoons around Alafouzos, Marinakis and Vardinogiannis sit firmly in the saddle of power – flanked by the state.

  • Vangelis Marinakis (owner of Caoital Maritime & Trading Corp., Alter Ego Media) charged with corruption and criminal activity and alleged involvement in drug smuggling of 2.1 tons of heroin (The “Noor 1” case)
  • Giannis Alafouzos (main shareholder + president of SKAI media group, newspaper Kathimerini, founder of Ermis Maritime Corporation, etc.) indicted for gasoline smuggling, tax evasion of more than 50 million euro and supporter of far-right politics
  • Vardis Vardinogiannis ( Holder of power and wealth, consisting of shipping, oil refinery incl. distribution, hotels, banks, media and real estate, etc.)

In the process, verdicts were overturned on appeal or no judicial investigators were found who were willing to take on investigations. The judicial investigator Kaliopi Mantaka even broke off the investigation against Vangelis Marinakis in the middle of it, quitted her job and moved to the USA together with her family. Nightingale I hear you sing…

Thus, their family members, such as the niece of Vardis Vardinogiannis, Olga Kefalogianni, a Nea Dimokratia deputy, take up positions in politics. In addition, there are lavish donations to the party and benefits in the form of party office equipment. Powerful political clans, such as the Papandreou, Karamanlis and Mitsotakis families, are supported. The latter provides the current prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is also said to have personal ties to the director of the National Theater, Dimitris Lignadis. He is said to have coached Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis in rhetoric. Dimitris Lignadis was appointed artistic director of the National Theater by the new Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, one month after the election, with the help of an amendment to the law and without a public tender offer.

D. Lignadis was arrested on 21/02/21 on allegations of child abuse, pedophilia and rape – after public pressure grew due to more and more evidence. Meanwhile, the media of the 3 aforementioned tycoons launched a campaign to defend D. Lignadis. Around 80% of the mainstream media is owned by these 3 tycoons. The Ministery of Culture around Lina Mendoni also defended D. Lignadis by initially stylizing him as the victim of a defamation campaign. (cf. Alexis Daloumis)

“Famous film director in the eye of the storm, because of….nothing” (20:30; Star news; Star TV; 02.12.20)

The “law and order” campaign rhetoric of Nea Dimokratia, in the course of which they rigorously enforced authoritarian and neoliberal laws, attacked any opposition, journalists, anarchist and self-organized structures with a repression offensive and attempted to install police and surveillance structures in the universities after their election victory, along with an educational reform, which is supposed to drastically limit the number of admissions in order to privatize the educational sector, once again makes it more than clear that the patriarchal (ruling) class is ready for anything to maintain and further expand its power, to endlessly increase its profits, as well as to subjugate people. In doing so, this gang of criminals is using the Corona pandemic to contain broad protests through restrictive measures and to try to stop them.

The aforementioned tycoon Vardis Vardinogiannis, survived an attack with 3 RPG missiles, perpetrated by the revolutionary organization 17 November, due to his armored car.

Dimitris Koufontinas voluntarily turned himself in in 2002 and took responsibility for the execution of Pavlos Mpakogiannis, brother-in-law of the current prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
