Through a press conference held at the University of Valle, Cali, the council of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca, CRIC, condemned the attack with firearms against the integrity of the mingueros participating in the national strike.

According to the communiqué, the national police were complicit in the events by covering up a group of people who shot at the community members.

According to the information, two vehicles surrounded and obstructed the movement of an advisor of the Association of Indigenous Councils of Northern Cauca, ACIN, in the Cañas Gordas sector of the capital of the Cauca Valley.

As a result of this violence, 12 Mingueros were injured, two of them seriously, by unknown persons carrying firearms and driving armored vans.

Likewise, the councilors and the authorities of Cauca reproduce the lies of the police force when they say that they went to the site (Cañas Gordas) to respond to acts of vandalism.

Through this document, the spokespersons of the indigenous communities demand guarantees for social protest from the national government, as well as the demilitarization of rural and urban territories and condemns the atempted kidnapping of the indigenous leader from the north of the department.
