Berlin. Last week we learned that Bernd passed away in Merida, Venezuela after 26 years on the run. Even though we did not know Bernd personally, this news saddens and shakes us. That’s why we put up a transpi at Skalitzer Park in the night of May 31st to June 1st. In this way we also want to express our sympathy for his friends and comrades.

After the attempted attack on the deportation prison Berlin-Grünau by means of an explosive device in 1995, Bernd and two other persons were accused of being members of the project K.O.M.I.T.E.E.. K.O.M.I.T.E.E. claimed responsibility for the attempted attack on the Berlin-Grünau deportation prison and for an arson attack on a Bundeswehr building in Bad-Freienwalde. In doing so, they positioned themselves against the genocide in Kurdistan and against the German deportation system.
In a verdict in November 1995, the Federal Supreme Court described K.O.M.I.T.E.E. as a “left-wing terrorist organization.” However, they managed to elude law enforcement authorities and escape abroad.
The BKA and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office continued their persecution until today, even though, after two years of imprisonment, Venezuela refused an extradition request from the German authorities and Interpol removed them from their wanted list in February 2021.
Solidarity greetings and much strength to Thomas and Peter!
To remember is to fight!
It was and is the right thing, the prision should be blown up
Hasta Siempre Bernd!
