Russia. In Belgorod and Perm, two military recruiting offices were on fire on the night of June 24, 2022.
In Belgorod, a fire broke out on the first floor. An unidentified person broke a window of the building on the first floor and threw two Molotov cocktails into room 106. It is reported that a desk went up in flames.
In Perm, unknown persons also tried to set fire to the army recruitment office. Around 4 a.m. several Molotov cocktails flew into the recruitment office in the Kirovsky district on Zakamskaya Street. Four bottles were found on the spot – two broke, two remained in their original state, no fire broke out.
The good news is that in both cases the arsonists escaped.
The overall damage caused by arson has been low so far, but despite the repression, it continues unabated and spreads throughout the country.

The first attack occurred on February 28, 2022 in the city of Lukhovitsy in the Moscow region. An unidentified person broke two windows of the recruitment office and threw Molotov cocktails into the office. In addition, the gates of the building were painted in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. No one was injured in the fire, but property damage was caused. The suspect was later arrested and criminal proceedings were initiated on charges of “vandalism”. It turned out that it was Kirill, a 21-year-old resident. On March 13, around 6 a.m., the suspected arsonist fled the police station and was put on the wanted list. He was arrested again in the evening on the same day.
The second attack took place in Voronezh on March 3, 2022. An unknown person threw a canister with a flammable liquid against the door of a building, which then caught fire and was damaged by the fire. No one was injured.
The third attack occurred on March 10, 2022 in the city of Beryozovsky in the Sverdlovsk region. An unknown person set fire to a door. The flames were noticed by traffic police, who called the fire department and arrested the arsonist. It turned out that he was a 24-year-old consultant of an electronics store. During the search of his apartment canisters with gasoline were found. The investigating authorities opened a criminal case for “attempted murder”.
The fourth attack occurred on the night of March 18-19, 2022, in the town of Shuya in the Ivanovo region. A drunk resident threw a Molotov cocktail through the window of the recruitment office. The arsonist was arrested.
On the night of April 18, 2022, in the village of Zubova Polyana in Mordovia, 40 square meters of the premises where the data of conscripts were stored were damaged by fire. A very successful attack – several computers were destroyed and one of the spaces in the office burned out completely. Four Molotov cocktails were found at the scene. However, the attackers left no traces. Moreover, there were no video surveillance cameras or alarm systems in the recruitment office. Criminal proceedings were initiated for “intentional destruction of or damage to property”.
On April 25, an unknown person in Moscow set fire to a checkpoint of the Kosino-Uchtomsky police station. He threw two Molotov cocktails; however, the fire was extinguished with own resources and nobody was injured.
The sixth attack occurred in the night from May 3 to May 4, 2022, at 3:20 a.m. local time in Nizhnevartovsk in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District. Unknown persons threw bottles with flammable mixtures into a building. One of them extinguished immediately, the other one caught fire in the wooden cladding, but it was quickly extinguished. One of the arsonists filmed the act with his cell phone. On May 13, 2022, media reported that the suspected arsonists had been arrested. They are two young men charged under the articles of the Criminal Code “Intentional destruction or damage of property” and “Hooliganism”.
The seventh attack occurred on May 8, 2022 at about 1 am in Cherepovets. The fire site had an area of one square meter. The flames damaged two window frames and smoked the facade of the building. Seven people were engaged in extinguishing the fire. On May 11, 2022, the arsonist* were arrested. They were two 16-year-olds who testified that they had committed the crime “on orders” and received 30,000 rubles for their deed. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the youths for property damage.
The eighth attack occurred on the evening of May 9, 2022 in Balashikha in the Moscow region. An unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail through the window. A fire broke out in the corridor of the building on an area of one square meter, which the security guard managed to extinguish. The suspects were not found.
The ninth attack occurred on the night of May 13, 2022 in Omsk. Two windows of the building were destroyed and traces of fire were found, but the fire was quickly extinguished. The suspects were not found.
The tenth attack also occurred on the night of May 13, this time in the town of Gukovo in the Rostov region. The attack took place at about 02:05 in the morning. The fire was extinguished by the employees of the Registration and Recruitment Office themselves, and there was no property damage. The suspects were not found.
The eleventh incident occurred on the night of May 14 in Pronsk, Ryazan region. Unknown persons tried to set fire first to the entrance door and then to the window. The flames failed to spread and the building was not damaged by the fire. Criminal proceedings were initiated for attempted intentional destruction or damage to property. The suspects were not found.
The twelfth attack occurred on the night of May 15 in Volgograd. The fire broke out in the basement. The fire area was 16 square meters. After the fire was extinguished, a broken glass bottle with a piece of rag was found in the room, and a one-liter plastic bottle was found near the building. The suspects were not found.
The thirteenth case (one of the most significant) occurred on the night of May 18, 2022 in Shchelkovo, in the Moscow region. Unknown persons attacked the military commissariat in Shchelkovo and threw Molotov cocktails into the building. Two offices of the building, including the archive, were damaged by the arson attack. The arsonists have not been found yet.
In the city of Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky on the night of May 19-20, an army recruiting office was shot at with a BB gun.
On the night of May 21, unknown persons set fire to the military registration and conscription office in the settlement of Igra in Udmurtia by throwing a “Molotov cocktail” into the building. In a successful action, the room for reservists in the building went completely up in flames during the fire.
On May 28, there was an unsuccessful attempt to set fire to a military recruiting office in Simferopol.
On May 31, an unknown person used an axe to break a window of the recruiting office in Yasnogorsk, Tula region, and tried to set the building on fire.
On June 4, an anti-war activist set fire to a building of the Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard, Enough 14) in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
June 5 – In Crimea, the administrative building of the rural settlement Pushkino was set on fire – an unknown person threw a Molotov cocktail through the window. There was a small fire, but no important documents were damaged. Aziz Faizullayev, 25, confessed the arson attack and told investigators that he committed it on his own initiative because he disagreed with the “special operation” in Ukraine.
On June 8, two people in Vladivostok threw a bottle with a flammable liquid against the wall of a wooden recruitment building.
On June 15, an attempt was made to set fire to the FSB building in Krasnodar.
