War is back in Europe, the ruling class is responding with a gigantic rollback to fossil fuels, driving people into poverty by making them pay for decades of failed energy policies. It’s not just dependence on Russian gas, fossil fuel dependence represents failed policies for all living organisms on this planet. Wuppertal. Germany.On August 16, activists of Cars of Hope will drive to Ukraine again. It will be their fourth aid delivery in the war-torn country. They will bring necessary goods like Tourniquets, IFAK -First Aid Kits, Burnshield Rescue Kits (für die Versorgung von Brandwunden), face masks for burn care, Israeli Emergency Bandages, medicines and other items that are needed in Ukraine. Cars of Hope will first drive to Kyiv and then to Kharkiv.

Pushbacks at the German-Polish border – people seeking protection are pushed back to Poland by the German federal police

For about a year, the catastrophic situation at the Polish-Belarusian border has led to life-threatening migration routes via Poland to Germany and other EU countries. People on the move are instrumentalized for political conflicts, are criminalized in Polish camps, mistreated and deprived of their most basic human rights. If they manage to continue their journey, they meet Germanys undignified and grueling asylum system, which in many cases foresees a Dublin deportation back to Poland.

Earth First! gathering collective: To our friends from XR

In recent years there has been an explosion of activity in the climate movement in the UK. It’s inspiring to see so many determined to take action on climate change and committing themselves to fiercely defending nature. Extinction Rebellion (XR) in particular has brought in thousands of new people, shifted public opinion, and reignited a movement. There has also been exciting movement within XR, increasingly targeting those in the corporate media and fossil industries causing the problem rather than just creating public disruption.
