Support Blood Money Campaign Myanmar

The Asia Working Group of the International Confederation of Labor (ICL) calls on members, syndicates and sympathizers to stand in solidarity with our comrades in Myanmar who are tirelessly protesting the military takeover and risking their lives in the process. We call for participation in the Blood Money Campaign, initiated and developed by Individuals of the civil society on the ground as well as the grassroots union Federation of General Workers Myanmar (FGWM) and other activists.

All against the junta in Myanmar: An interview with “Rebel Riot” and a call for borderless solidarity

Introduction, May 2021

As of writing this, over seven hundred people have been murdered by the military (Tatmadaw) junta of Myanmar. A coup was conducted on the morning of February 1st, 2021 by the junta under the fabricated excuse of fraud and inconsistencies in the November 2020 election results.  With the seizing of power, the military declared a year long state of emergency, transferring the power of both the president and state counsellor to the commander and chief of armed services Min Aung Hliang.
