Berlin: Today (September 29) we were together on the streets (About 1500 people took part in a demo for Liebig 34 and against gentrification, EIE) because the tenancy agreement of Liebig34 expires at the end of the year. The house has no prospect of being able to stay legal. The situation of the Liebig34 exemplifies the sellout of the city and the displacement of people from their living and living spaces.
Liebig34 is the only anarcha-queer-feminist housing project in Berlin. The owner Gijora Padovicz wants to evict the house when the contract ends in December 2018 and turn our home into luxury apartments.
Berlin, September 7: Activists occupied the Umspannwerk in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district earlier today to prevent the planned Google Campus there. After about 2 hours riot cops evicted the building. In the night of the 30th on the 31st of August a banner was hung up north of Mauerpark (the Berlin wall park) in the former border area at Schwedter Steg on Behmstrasse in Berlin. The banner reads “Smash Borders! – #Seebruecke“.

Berlin: The Liebig34 is a self-organized, anarcha-queer-feminist house project in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The house was occupied in 1990 and later legalized. This contract expires in December 2018 and and we are not being given an extension: the owner, Gijora Padovicz, wants to clear the house, renovate it and rent it out again for maximum profit. Padovicz is known in Berlin for systematically buying up, clearing and destroying houses and residential projects.
On May 20 9 houses were squatted in Berlin and another one in Potsdam. Cops evicted the squats on the same day, but people are not giving in and call for more squatting actions and a demo on May 25 in Berlin.
