#EndeGelaende & #DeCOALonize: Occupation of power plant #Datteln4 a huge success – „And this was only the beginning!“

Datteln, Germany. February 2, 2020. Today, ca 150 people from Ende Gelände and DeCOALonize Europe occupied the premises of the coal-fired power station Datteln 4 near Dortmund, Germany. For nine hours they blocked loading facilities and band-conveyors. Their action of civil disobedience was a protest against the new coal-law of the German goverment and the devastating consequences of hard-coal mining in Russia and Columbia. At the end of the day, the activists were evicted by the police. The activists declared today‘s action a full success.

#EndeGelaende & #DeCoalonize: #Datteln4 occupied – 150 people in action of civil disobedience against coal-law

Datteln. Germany. February 2, 2020. At this moment, about 150 people are occupying the coal-fired power station Datteln 4 near the city of Dortmund, Germany. At 7.30 am the activists of Ende Gelände and DeCOALonize Europe entered the premises of the power plant; now they are blocking crucial infrastructure. Their action of civil disobedience is a protest against the coal law of the German goverment.
