To the dedicated people who translate the Zapatista communiqués so that they may circulate the world through the Internet, we owe a great debt for keeping the issues in Chiapas ever-present and for helping breach the Mexican government’s cordon of silence and denial.

Zapatistas Inaugurate New Caracoles in #Ocosingo, #Chiapas

Ocosingo, Chiapas: “Feel happy comapañeros because this is joy, this is happiness, because this event does not happen every instant, it is not in the newspaper, it is the time that marks the process of our walk, that teaches us what to do and how it must be done,” said members of the new Board of Good Governance (JBG), “New dawn in resistance and rebellion for life and humanity,” of the Zapatista caracol number X inaugurated on February 1 and 2, named: “Blooming the rebel seed,” located in the town of Patria Nueva, official municipality of Ocosingo.

#Chiapas: Zapatistas Greet the New Year With Resistance

Chiapas. On August 17, 2019, the EZLN announced the end of the “Samir Flores Vive” campaign, with which it went on the offensive and extended “the word and action of resistance and rebellion.” As a result, the Zapatista caracols and their boards of good governance will go from five to twelve. They also created four new autonomous municipalities, which are now 31. They also reported the creation of the Zapatista Autonomous Resistance and Rebellion Centers, a new structure in the world they build. With photographs and videos, the EZLN showed the world its most recent expansion. It was only the beginning.
