#LeaveNoOneBehind under this slogan hundreds of activists* formed a human chain on the banks of the river Main in Frankfurt (Germany) on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
Plans to expand Frankfurt’s Airport’s third terminal and clear 6ha of mixed forest for the motorway connection have been put on hold by a over a month long now forest tree-sit occupation. Treburer Wald between Zeppelinheim and Möhrfelden-Walldorf Waldorf on the edge of Frankfurt is now a home to group of activists living in 3 platform and a treehouse connected by walkways with multiple banners bringing attention to the climate, pollution and noise impact of the airport.

Warren Draper delves into the thinking behind ambitious anarchist project A Commune in the North (ACitN). It would be hard for anyone who has been involved with anarchism, cooperatives or radical ecology over the last three decades not to have come across the legend that is LeedsCath. If you are a zine lover, you have
Louis further rounds up goings on across the pond. Trump’s personal lawyer, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, deliberately failed last week to appear before the committee investigating the insurrection on January 6 last year – which was incited (and probably organised in part) by Trump. Giuliani made it clear that he had no intention
In its latest action against Elbit Systems, Palestine Action stormed the Israeli weapons maker’s flagship premises yesterday (May 15th), occupying both the inside of the facility and the roof to mark Nakba Day. An ill-advised immigration raid launched on a sunny Saturday in Dalston, London turned ugly yesterday after police officers attacked large crowds who’d turned out to oppose it. The high street raid, which kicked off at around half-six as people thronged the street getting dinner or going out for the evening, was picked up almost immediately
A historical look at how anarchists in the 1990s mobilized against attacks on reproductive freedom and autonomy by taking direct action and building autonomous infrastructure. By Spencer Beswick As the Supreme Court prepares to reverse Roe v. Wade under a Democratic president, house, and senate, it is clear that action at the ballot box is... […]
An update on George Floyd uprising defendants and a call for people to get involved in supporting long-term prisoners. It’s also been seven... […]
On Tuesday, May 17th, Atlanta police, backed by a phalanx of other state and federal law enforcement, including “DeKalb Police, the Georgia State Patrol, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” invaded the Weelaunee forest, also known as the Atlanta forest. In the face of militant resistance, police cut down trees... […]
A look at the evolving movement to defend the Atlanta Forest and how people can push back on evolving police and media narratives attacking the struggle. “We are on the timeline in which everyone loses,” a friend once said. It always felt that way. Even though we always tried, all of us, our victories were... […]

The war in Ukraine, the Covid-19 pandemic, devastation of the environment and climate disaster, all of these things are the product of capitalism. They are not ‘natural disasters’ but the outcome of the contradictions of a crumbling social system (mode of production) which has long lost its benefit to humanity. Unless capitalism is destroyed it […]
Listen here. April 15th is Steal Something From Work Day! For over a decade, we’ve celebrated the everyday resistance that workers undertake to challenge their exploitation when the boss isn’t watching. Whether in factories or coffee shops, under capitalism or socialism, workers have always pilfered from their workplaces—not just as a way to survive or […]

Anonymous submission to MTL Counter-info In “Montréal” this Friday May 13. We decorated an RBC Branch, in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en land defenders. We used red paint, like the colour of the blood staining this bank’s hands.
From Escaping Tomorrow’s Cages This text is the third in a series. To start at the beginning, read the introduction. The second part, a summary of the projects, can be read here. First, briefly, why oppose prisons in general? We take as our starting point that the world would be better without prisons. Prisons don’t […]
From Dark Nights To the wild celebrations in the public gallery, the presiding judge rejected the application for anarchist comrade Toby Shone’s Serious Crime Prevention Order, declaring there were no grounds for it to be applied under the circumstances. Shouts of ‘Not one step back!’ were responded to with Toby shouting ‘The Revolution is inevitable!’ […]
Anonymous submission to North Shore Counter-Info In “Toronto” on the morning of May 1st, we attacked an RBC branch in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en land defenders. From Anarchist Black Cross Brighton First of May 2022 As a minimal gesture I refuse to eat from the prison servery to mark the Revolutionary 1st of May, to join in the demonstrations around the world using my body as a means of solidarity and to protest the denial of my correspondence by the security […]
Although we have many reasons to be against prisons and against this prison expansion project in particular, our motivations are profoundly anti-capitalist, since prison is an important part of how capitalism functions. However, we understand that not everyone will share this motivation, even if we have a shared goal of keeping this prison expansion project […]
We take as our starting point that the world would be better without prisons. Prisons don't solve social problems, they exacerbate existing inequalities and play a crucial role in a violent capitalist system. The lie told about prisons is that by disappearing people who have been convicted of criminalized activities, our communities will be "safer". […]
Prison is being restructured across the province, and at this time the process is focused on northern and eastern Ontario. These two strategies follow on a previous wave of prison expansion, heavily focused on Toronto but that also included a new prison in Windsor. There will be other waves after this one, probably aimed at […]

Escaping Tomorrow's Cages is written in absolute opposition to the existence of prisons. The Province of Ontario is in the midst of an initiative to expand the provincial prison system in eastern and northern Ontario, and our hope is for this text to contribute to a struggle capable of stopping it. The initiative includes expanding […]

[Español abajo] In 2020 Black Rose / Rosa Negra (BRRN) began experiencing serious internal political conflict over the direction of our organization, its strategy, and its structures.

Mya Walmsley weighs into the debate on anarchism, socialism and elections. The Red and Black Notes editorial collective publishes this response in the spirit of debate, we do not necessarily endorse its conclusions. Earlier this week, the Socialist Alternative publication Red Flag carried a response from Jerome Small to Tommy Lawson’s piece in this publication, ‘Why do anarchists abstain from elections?‘. Jerome’s response to Tommy’s article was a measured, good-faith response to Tommy’s critique of Victorian Socialists and more specifically Socialist Alternative’s decision to spend so much time […]
Interviewed by Mya Walmsley The steady revival of organized Anarchism in the anglosphere has led to a re-engagement with the fundamental strategic questions of Anarchism. In what way should a revolutionary organization be structured? How should a revolutionary organization struggle for reforms? What role does the revolutionary organization play in the revolutionary process? In grappling […]
“there was another kind of heroism besides that of the Anzacs — the heroism of men who were brave enough not to fight, who faced the full scorn of public opinion, and in many cases went to gaol because of their opposition to militarism in their own country. It is necessary to remember the heroism […]
The following is a slightly edited version of a talk given to a panel hosted by Socialist Unity and Geelong Anarchist Communists in March, 2022. The topic of the panel was ‘should socialists participate in elections,’ however the idea was first posited as to discuss why anarchists do not run in elections. As such the […]

from Viscera This month we’ll be reading “The Great Caliban: The Struggle Against the Rebel Body,” a chapter from Silvia Federici’s classic work, Caliban and the Witch. We can see, in other words, that the human body and not the steam engine, and not even the clock, was the first machine developed by capitalism. History,…
from Making World Books Faint traces of Indigenous people and their histories abound in American media, memory, and myths. Indigeneity often remains absent or invisible, however, especially in contemporary political and intellectual discourse about white supremacy, anti-Blackness, and racism in general. In this ambitious new book, Kevin Bruyneel confronts the chronic displacement of Indigeneity in…
