Grupo Barbaria: No one is left behind?

Spanish territory. No one is left behind. These have been the words with which the PSOE and Podemos government has filled its mouth since March 14, 2020, a sad day to remember. Those together with the already well-known “victory morale”, to selflessly endure the rigors of confinement and the health and economic crisis for the benefit of “the social peace of our homeland”, because it is “our duty to our compatriots”: an untrustworthy phraseology, which pretends to emulate the language that inspired the great bellicose acts of the bourgeoisie, taking the lives of millions of workers all over the world, as they did before.

Grupo Barbaria: A world that is gone

There are times when you stop in order to look at this system and you get a strange feeling. The sensation is similar to the one that you have in a dream, when the succession of things is produced with both a disconcerting and natural absurdity. In a moment of lucidity you say to yourself that it does not make sense if things happen like this and you hesitate, but events happen at full speed and you can only adapt yourself, tell yourself that it must be so, that if the others act normally it must be normal and that this confusion that hugs your stomach will pass away.

People locked up. Hospitals and intensive care units that cannot cope. Nursing homes converted into morgues. Breweries and aircraft factories open. New construction sites empty. Gardeners in the parks and public transport full of workers. The military patrol whilst police arrest, fine and raid the immigrants gathered in squares.

In this article we intend to tackle the questions that are unpinned by the current state of emergency that was decreed by the Pedro Sánchez administration in Spain, along with the measures that were announced on Tuesday, March 17th. We are living in times of profound social crisis, a health crisis that, at the same, is combined with an economic crisis, of change in the climate, psychology, politics, etc. In reality we’re facing the crisis of a world that’s beginning to collapse, that’s exhausting its historical time: it’s the world of capital. It’s the crisis of capital.
