Today’s walk in the Forest has attracted over 400 people reflecting a wave of popular support sweeping not just the region but all of Germany and from around the world. This is happening at the time when the rulling parties are no loger able or willing to hold an argument on exiting from coal and its effects on the climate but istead have become an extension of RWE special interests and are trying to redirect attention and justify large police actions to destroy the last of Hambi by talk of extremism and violence.
A small but determined spontaneous demo marched through Neumünster, Germany last night to commemorate Alexis Grigoropoulis and to protest against police violence. There were also actions and demonstrations in other German cities like Wuppertal and Berlin.
Germany: After energy giant RWE started uprooting Hambacher forest yesterday with the assistance of riot cops, the company continued with their enviremental destruction this morning. Activists resisted again. In the afternoon a court ordered a temporary stop of cutting the 300 year old trees in the forest. According to a spokesperson of the court this temporary stop could be for weeks or even months, which gives activists time to organize and mobilize.

As expected energy giant RWE started with uprooting the next section of the Hambacher forest today. Riot cops secured the arean shoving people from a hill and using pepper spray. The activists in the Hambacher forest (near Cologne, Germany) continue to resist and are calling for support and ask people to come to the forest.

The courtcase which gave the Hambach Forest a little more time to prepare for cutting season is lost. RWE started today with clearing bushes to prepare for total cutting. The preparations for an massive police action are obvious.
