#Helsinki: About the #Mayday squat – legal repression on the horizon

During this years antiauthoritarian May Day demo a building was squatted an evicted by cops. Five people were arrested, suspected of criminal damage and contumacy to the police.

#Finland: The Most Beautiful Bloc – 350 marched as a separate procession on #MayDay in #Helsinki

Finland: On May Day we organised a bloc (an independently organised part of a demonstration) for the “Helsingin Työväen Vappu” May Day march. Our bloc was unaffiliated with labour unions and political parties and it was called Your Time Belongs To You – The Most Beautiful Bloc of the May Day March. Our intentions were to gather together the entire rainbow spectrum of anti-authoritarian left in the Helsinki metropolitan area in all its beauty.

Gatorna: A secretive far-right event in #Helsinki on Sunday: international speakers united by anti-semitism and misogyny

In Helsinki on April 2018, a far-right event called ”Awakening – Towards national awakening” will bring together far-rightists from various countries. #Helsinki: Solidarity action with the arrested anti-fascists and anarchists in #Russia

On March 18, 2018, as part of an international solidarity campaign with Russian antifascists and anarchists, there was a protest in Helsinki near the embassy of the Russian Federation.  More than 50 people gathered a few dozen meters from the embassy.

#NoG20 Kupoli Helsinki: Lecture 9th of April: The Ghost of Anti-Globalism

In Kupoli, Mannerheimintie 5 B, Helsinki, 7th floor 9th of April.

Food served at 16:00, the lecture will start at 16:30

The 1999 WTO- summit in Seattle ended in dismay due to a falling out between the participants. At the same time tens of thousands of demonstrators took over the city. During the following years social movements tried to replicate the events in Seattle, but failed due to heavy police repression.
