Vasilis Dimakis, the incarcerated student who is claiming the right to higher education, has been transferred to Korydallos Prison Hospital but refused to be examined. Since he is now on the 23d day of his hunger strike and aldready started a thirst strike, the doctor there predicted that serious health issues will appear soon and suggested Dimakis’ transfer to a proper hospital.

Over two hundred detainees at two detention centres, Villawood in Sydney and Maribyrnong in Melbourne, have declared a hunger strike in protest at visiting restrictions recently announced by Border Force. The Lonko Alfredo Tralcal Coche and the siblings Benito, Ariel and Pablo Trangol Galindo, have been on a hunger strike for 107 days after starting their protest against irregular detention and after completing more than a year in remand prison without conclusive evidence against them, under the so-called “Anti-Terror Law”, which includes the use of faceless witnesses. They are accused of an incendiary attack against an evangelical temple in the town of Padre Las Casas, of which they declare themselves innocent. It should be noted that one of them, Ariel Trangol, professes the evangelical religion.
