#Leipzig, #Germany: Demo against repression & corruption – #le1706

Leipzig. Germany. #Leipzig after yesterdays raids and demo: Defend left-wing politics!

Leipzig. Germany. June 10, 2020. What is known? According to their own statements, the cops searched nine apartments in Leipzig today. According to their own statements, they are different investigations against different defendants. The coordinated raids were also justified by the fact that Corona would be over. What the background of the repression is, however, is not revealed by state authorities. They hope for public speculation and gossip. We should not do the police and the public prosecutor’s office these favors – neither on the Internet, on the phone nor in person.

Image above: Yesterday mornings raids were answered with stones in the evening hours.

#Germany: Against the #EU – #China Summit in #Leipzig

UPDATE After government circles repeatedly insisted in recent weeks that the EU-China summit in Leipzig should take place as planned, the German government spokesperson announced on June 3, 2020 that the summit would be postponed.

A new date should be found fast. Leipzig is to remain the host city. It took some time to realize that even heads of state and government and several thousand employees and journalists cannot be protected from the coronavirus at such an event. It was probably also important to the German government and the European Council that it did not look as if the postponement of the summit had anything to do with the current decisions of the Chinese state leadership. Despite the new security law for Hong Kong, there was only increased commitment for the summit.

Postponed is not abandoned.
In spite of the uncertain date, we are sticking to it:

When the time comes, come to Leipzig to attack the summit together with us! No rest for the rulers – not here in Leipzig and not elsewhere! No to the EU-China Summit!

More information will follow. The preparations continue!

https://keingipfel.noblogs.org/post/2020/06/06/gipfel-verschoben/

Call by Kein Gipfel (No Summit) for counter actions against the EU-China summit in Leipzig, Germany, from September 13 until September 15, 2020 (postponed).

#Leipzig: #Connewitz, the state and a construction site of internal security

Leipzig. Germany. For weeks, Connewitz has been simmering, especially around the construction site between Wiedebach square and Eckstein street. The construction site is preventing the cops from patrolling and controlling a large part of Bornai street. This gives many people the opportunity to go out in the evening without being subjected to arbitrary police checks. Again and again there are fires at the construction site, which is part of a large-scale upgrading process of the neighbourhood. This induces state forces to constantly storm the construction site in large numbers and arbitrarily control and harass people. The anger at the previous harassment by the cops finally exploded spontaneously on May 9, 2020. Here is a small overview of the events in the last weeks.

#Leipzig, #Germany: Statement on the May 1st mock occupations

Leipzig. Germany. The occupations on May 1st in Ludwigstraße and in Großzschocher were mock occupations. Due to the Corona crisis, police repression and bans on larger solidarity demonstrations were to be expected. Therefore, the activists decided to choose this symbolic form of action to draw attention to the start of their campaign and to release corresponding forces and energies. One thing is clear: symbolic forms of action will not remain, the goal of the campaign is the actual creation of self-managed, non-commercial spaces through occupation.

#Leipzig, #Connewitz: On the media strategy of cops, judiciary and political system in view of December 31

Leipzig. Connewitz. German territory. Anyone who lives in Leipzig and may have been at the cross on New Year’s Eve can actually only have their ears ringing (as long as they are unharmed) and their eyes burning from what happened in the media after New Year’s Eve. So distorted, so unnecessarily exaggerated is that what happened there, that the question arises why it actually happened. To make it clear in short: We welcome the actions of the people on the cross and do not want to play it down or belittle it; but it was, with all success, also not this phantastic “more than before”, which cops, politicians and the media have now turned it into. It was more than happened on the cross in other years and a little less than was possible on other occasions in Leipzig.
But why now this giant theatre? Is it really because comrades tried to murder a cop there? Because the attacked cops were hurt as never before? Because the attack went beyond every foreseeable measure? At least that’s what people should be made to believe and this is not aimed at any kind of criminal prosecution or the like, but rather at preventing the emergence of a left-wing radical movement and to chase its protagonists apart and divide them at an early stage.
