Critical review of protests in #Belarus in the last 2 months

Belarus. Over the past 2 months we have gone through almost the entire book of possible tactics of non-violent resistance. Unfortunately, so far only Sunday protests have been able to strengthen on a permanent basis. The majority of other protest forms are now under control.

Belarus. Throughout the Soviet and Lukashenko propaganda, many may think that anarchists in Belarus are barricades and clashes with OMON. But anarchism is much more than that. Somewhere behind the scenes, there is an idea that people can live with dignity and without a dictator and Bolsheviks.

Another week of protest in #Belarus: The week started with two funerals

Belarus. On Monday people in Schabinka said goodbye to Gennady Shutov, who was shot by the cops and who died later in the hospital. A public procession was organized where a lot of people from the town participated.

And on Tuesday another protestor, Nikita Krivtsov, who was found hanged in Partisanski district of Minsk on the 22 August was buried. He already disappeared on August 12 during the protest. The officials insist on suicide, which obviously was not the case. Another case were the cops arranged a “suicide” like the director of the military museum wo was found in the river last week. At the public procession also a lot of people took part.

#Belarus: Laughter through rage

Belarus. August 23. 2020. Today became extremely important for the protests in the country. Despite the bad weather and whining on the Internet, a huge number of people came out in the capital and regions. In Minsk, by various estimates, there were from 100 to 200 thousand people. The regions also did not let down, and in some cities was even better than a week ago.

Belarus. The last three days strikes and protests continued even so not as strong as before. People demand the release of the prisoner, doing solidarity chains against violence and support strikers. But also repression continues.

#Belarus: Strike continues, with repression and pressure on workers

Belarus. People were calling to support the strikers through out the day through out the country also on Wednesday. But not only the supporters in front of the factories are being pushed away by OMON, also the strikers themselves are under pressure from management and security forces inside the factories.

Biggest demonstration in history of #Belarus

Belarus. Aigust 16. 2020. Today people were calling for the biggest demonstration in history of Belarus. And you can say that this was working quite well. In Minsk 200.000 people went on the streets. In a lot of other cities people were protesting as well in huge numbers and even small villages joined the protests.

#Belarus: Beware of the regime that’s trying to split us up

Belarus. August 15. 2020. Yesterday we already published a leaflet calling for respect for all tactics of protest. The reason for publishing this leaflet was the negative experience of some activists of anarchist movement in the streets of the city. The protesters started actively looking for provocateurs inside the crowd, who “provoke” the police to disperse the demonstrations by force. All those who try to take people away from the cops and prevent arrests, at least by part of the people, begin to be negatively perceived. It is these actions, in their opinion, that lead to the violent dispersal of demonstrations.
