March & April 2021: “Our Hatred for the Police Will Bring Us Together” [Greece]

Greece. We have reported so much on the always changing situation out here as it is of concern to anarchists. These reports reflect our priorities as an anarchist collective that waves a purely black flag, and also our own experiences or perspectives on what is happening around us. In the past we overwhelmed ourselves, and likely the reader as well, trying our best to discuss ‘everything’. However we want to use these reports to make more targeted reporting. We take responsibility for missing things, however our intention is to raise cross border solidarity, and inform others to both better understand the situation here, and relate it to their own. Information and links are provided at the end of this report, like all the others, where you can find constant updates and information on the situation as well.

“You have shown us that being peaceful is useless” – The Case of Pablo Hasél: An Interview By RadioFragmata (Greece) with An Anonymous Anarchist in Spain

The following is an interview with an anonymous anarchist in Spain regarding the recent riots and general response to the prosecution of anti-fascist rapper Pablo Hasél. We hope this interview helps both to inspire others around the world with news of this uprising, but also to prepare for similar policies that are being implemented across the neo-liberal world; intent on repressing our movement’s voice.

With love and solidarity, we spit on the grave of Franco from Greece, welcome the passion of those in the streets of Spain attacking symbols of the state and capital, and present this conversation as part of a broader project of borderless solidarity in the struggle against fascism.

Greece: The Ghost of Junta Past Returns – The Hunger Strike of Dimitris Koufontinas

We are writing from the same lockdown conditions here in Athens that we have reported on for months. Despite stringent measures—or perhaps because of the ways that the government has combined these with policies to promote tourism and consumption despite the pandemic—infection rates continue to soar. Hospitals have reached 89 percent ICU capacity accommodating COVID-19 cases.

New Year’s Notes from Greece under Lockdown – December 2020 and January 2021

Greece. At this time, we are reminded of our comrades through banners and graffiti, through brief encounters under the guise of getting exercise between curfews, and through the courageous actions of those who turn to the night to act as the day becomes too dangerous.

On the Permitted Fascist Temper Tantrum That Caught the World’s Eye: An Anarchist Response to the January 6th Melee in DC

So much could be said about the spectacle recently witnessed at Washington, DC’s federal capitol building, however we will write a quick statement, hoping to further understand the situation as well as to assert a need on behalf of comrades in the States who face both imminent and ongoing grassroots violence and parallel state repression. Essentially, what we saw was not an insurrection or revolt; what the world witnessed was a permitted fascist temper tantrum.

RAM/RadioFragmata Interview with A Brazilian Comrade on the Events in Porto Alegre

On November 19th, 2020, the eve of “Black Consciousness” day in Brazil, security guards at the Carrefour retail store in Porto Alegre brutally murdered a black father of four named João Alberto Silveira Freitas while store employees and shoppers stood by (Video of the murder can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjCv0wRZLSU). Following his murder, demonstrations and riots broke out in Porto Allegre and were generalized in regions across the country (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucFPuHo4tlk). As the uprising that followed caught international headlines, fascist President Bolsanaro’s vice president Hamilton Mourão claimed there is no racism in Brazil, blaming foreign influences such as Black Lives Matter for the public’s response.

#Greece: New Democracy and #Pandemic Opportunism – The #Lockdown Resumes

Greece. The New Democracy administration continues to exploit the pandemic to take action against immigrants and anarchists, implementing an updated form of strategies that have not been seen since the Junta of the late 1960s and early ’70s. Our movement against the state and capital is more indispensable than ever, as the Greek state rushes to modernize the machinery via which it represses political opponents under the guise of law, order, and anti-virus mandates.

RadioFragmata: Taking Ourselves Seriously – Article 1 – Digital Harm Reduction

Greece is entering a new era in which the FBI, MI5, and other more advanced states in the world are acting as consultants for Greek repression. It is the responsibility of any committed revolutionary, insurrectionist, or active anarchist to adapt and grow in accordance with these developments and in the pursuit of long term struggle, and the broader preservation of our individual and collective safety.

RadioFragmata: The Dumpster of American Politics has been Sprayed with Perfume

So Joe Biden won. The man who was appointed to be Obama’s vice president to calm panicking white people back in 2008. Anywhere else in the world he would be seen as a moderate right wing candidate. His running mate Kamala Harris is an ex-prosecutor and notorious supporter of law enforcement. Very little will change, Trump has already filled the judiciaries with fascist judges who will have life time positions; only the faces of the american system will be a little more polite and a little more calm the next year.
