Montpelier. Vermont. On November 3rd Trump lost the Presidential election in Vermont by a wider margin than in any other State in the union. But that did not prevent a couple dozen (peaceful) pro-Trump supporter from demonstrating in front of the Statehouse on January 6th. At the 2020 Vermont AFL-CIO Convention, held via zoom on November 21, delegates of this 10,000 member labor federation voted to authorize their Executive Board to call for a Vermont General Strike in the event that Donald Trump were to refuse to engage in a peaceful transfer of power or otherwise carries out a coup. Trump lost the election to Democrat Joe Biden by any measure. May 30, 2020, Vermont – Tonight, over 2000+ Vermonters converged on the Burlington Police Department in protest of the racist murder of unarmed Black man George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis PD. Over the last 48 hours, rebellions & demonstrations have broke out in a multitude of US cities. In Minneapolis citizens overran the police department building where the officers responsible for the killing were based. Violent confrontations have flared between protesters and law enforcement in many urban centers outside Vermont.
